Donations
Your financial donations make a difference to the lives of women and children who find a haven at New Starts Women’s Shelter. Whether it’s a little or a lot, your gift has an impact on rebuilding lives. At New Starts for Women, your donation will be directed to where it’s most needed.
Thank you to Gail’s Stitches for collecting personal need items for the women and children that access our services. We could not provide all the things we do without help from our caring community
Goods
New Starts for Women also benefits from donations of goods and appreciates your help in providing items to our clients.
We are always in need of non-perishable food items for our food bank, as we have seen an increase in the number of women and children using this service. While we are very grateful for their support we have difficulty keeping our food bank shelves stocked. Please support us by donating items to our food bank.
The following items are always in need at the shelter:
- Peanut butter
- Pasta
- Rice
- Baby food
- Flour
- Canned vegetables
- Juice boxes
- Canned fish
- Cereal
Please help by providing the following items to our clients:
New
- Toiletries – soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste
- Diapers all sizes
- Feminine hygiene products
Gently Used or New
- Dishes
- Glasses
- Cutlery
- Pots and pans
- Appliances (both large and small)
- Furniture
- Clothing
- Shoes
- School Supplies
- Backpacks & Insulated Lunch Bags
Unfortunately, we are unable to pick up donations. To deliver donations, please contact us at 807-727-2820 or email frontlinesupport@newstartsforwomen.com to schedule a time to come in for drop off.
We will provide gift in kind tax receipts for donations where the fair market value can be determined in accordance with CRA policies and guidelines. Please contact us at 807-727-2820 or adminassistant@newstartsforwomen.com if you are requesting a receipt.
